Youth Program Administrators are responsible for certifying compliance with training requirements prior to minors being present for a youth program. Training for each youth program staff member should be documented and the record retained for future reporting.
University employees and volunteers working in youth programs must to be trained on the following:
1. Protection of Minors Policy and Procedures
Youth program staff must read and understand the policy and procedures regarding contact with youth.
2. Conduct Requirements
Youth program staff are expected to meet certain expectations of conduct.

3. Training Requirements
Youth program staff should be trained on child abuse awareness and prevention and understand how to report suspected child abuse and neglect. Human Resources offers an online training that satisfies this training requirement.

- Youth Program Administrators and youth program staff that are paid university employees are considered Campus Security Authorities (CSA). CSA’s must complete mandatory Campus Security Authority Online Training to understand their reporting responsibilities. This is a onetime training requirement. Ensure your staff have reviewed the Protection of Minors policy, conduct requirements and training course by keeping updating your program summary report.
