UA represents approximately 1,900 faculty on campus including tenure-track and non-tenure-track instructional faculty, adjuncts, librarians, research faculty, and postdoctoral scholars. Law school faculty, EC Cares faculty, and faculty in a supervisory role (mostly department heads and primary investigators) are excluded from the bargaining unit.

Successor contract ratified by United Academics
The University of Oregon and United Academics (UA) reached a tentative agreement for a successor contract on June 17, 2022, and UA members have ratified the agreement. The new CBA goes into effect immediately with an end date of June 30, 2024. It will be published soon. In the meantime, refer to the previous CBA and the summary of changes and additions.
ARTICLE 26. SALARY
Section 1. January 2022 Across the Board Increase.
Eligible bargaining unit faculty members will receive a 5% increase to base salary effective January 1, 2022. Eligible bargaining unit faculty members are those with an appointment as of October 31, 2021.
Section 2. January 2023 Across the Board Increase. Effective date of October 1, 2022 announced on 9/28/22.
Eligible bargaining unit faculty members will receive a 2% increase to base salary effective October 1, 2022 [changed from January 1, 2023]. Eligible bargaining unit faculty members are those with an appointment as of October 31, 2022.
Section 3. January 2024 Merit Increase. In addition to the meritorious salary increases associated with successful promotion, tenure, and post-tenure reviews, the University will establish a unit-based pool of 3% for salary increases to be distributed solely as merit to bargaining unit faculty members in the Career and Tenure-Track and Tenured classifications. Total unit based pool amounts will be determined based on the total base salary (prorated for FTE) for eligible faculty members in each group as of October 31, 2023 and increases will be effective January 1, 2024.
