Classified Position: Make an Offer

Upon notice of approval from Talent Acquisition, make the verbal contingent offer of employment. The offer is contingent upon successful completion of all required background checks, and if applicable to the position, post-offer functional or physical testing.

Once the verbal contingent offer has been made, set the candidate to the “Contingent Offer Accepted” status and complete the offer card in MyTrack. These two steps will alert the Talent Acquisition Unit to initiate the background check. Units/departments will be notified when the background check has been successfully completed.

If applicable, complete and obtain the new hire’s signature on the Flexible Work Schedule Agreement Form. Upload completed forms to the candidate’s offer card.

If you are hiring a current UO Employee into your position, please see Roles and Responsibilities in Hiring a Current Employee into a New Job.

Once the offer has completed any approvals (generally only if required by the unit/department), Talent Acquisition will prepare a formal offer letter and release it to the finalist via their applicant portal in MyTrack.

Once the finalist has accepted the online offer letter in MyTrack, they begin the onboarding process. MyTrack prompts them to complete some demographic information forms, which are transmitted to Payroll to set the new employee up in Banner.
