Employee Leaves for Faculty and Staff

Employees need time away from work in various situations. Whether it’s time off from work to take care for a new child, or deal with a serious health situation involving a family member or themselves, employees should request the time that they need from their supervisor. Below you’ll find the different types of employee leaves along with the university forms to complete the paperwork.

If you take time intermittently or work a reduced work schedule, you must be able to perform the essential functions of your job while you are at work. If you are unable to perform your job responsibilities while at work, you may be required to take continuous leave.

Supervisors must notify Human Resources so the proper documentation can be sent to the employee requesting leave. If you have questions after reviewing the information in these pages, please contact the leaves coordinators in Human Resources for more information at 541-346-3085 or HRLeaves@uoregon.edu.
