Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day™
Thursday, April 24, 2008

Celebrated at the University of Oregon by welcoming nine to thirteen year old girls and boys of UO families to participate in organized activities, this nationally recognized event is much more than a career day.  Campus activities are designed to expand opportunities for our youth, expose them to what the adults in their lives do during the work day, demonstrate the value of education, and give them an opportunity to share how they envision the future.

This year’s theme is Making Choices for a Better World.  It is intended to help participants think critically about the choices they and the people in their lives make and how those choices can lead to a better world.

Child Care and School Choices

Finding good child care and choosing the right school setting for your child can be challenging. Work and Family Services provides personal consultation and information about campus and community programs and services, including family child-care homes, child-care centers, in-home care options, before- and after-school programs, private and public schools (4-J School District, Bethel School District, Springfield School District), kindergartens, public school information, summer and vacation programs, high school alternatives, and lists of UO student caregivers.

Elder Care

Caring for elderly family members is an increasingly common concern. Work and Family Services collaborates with several community agencies to provide the information and resources you need, whether the family member lives with you, in the area, or in another state. Alzheimers Association
