New Horizons Computer Learning Centers:
Human Resources has purchased vouchers from New Horizons for software applications training. These vouchers can be used in Portland, Beaverton, and Salem. They are available for purchase by the departments for use by faculty and staff. The New Horizons $63.00 (1-day class) and $126.00 (2-day class) charge per person will be billed to your department. The upper division classes, such as Dreamweaver, Day 4 (level 3), and Crystal Reports (a 2-day course), require three vouchers, for a total cost to UO departments of $189.00 per person. This affordable price is made possible by the Employee Benefit Fund, which is paying part of the cost. If you have exceeded the EBF allotment the full rate of will apply.

Stress Management Workshop

This two day brown-bag workshop will cover the negative effects of chronic stress as well as techniques to manage and reduce stress will be discussed in this workshop presented by the university's employee assistance program, Cascade Centers, Inc.. People are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of reducing the stress in their lives because of the effects it creates on physical health, emotional well-being, and work productivity. Ruining Your Good Name

Identity theft and credit fraud seem to be in the news every day. We will explore different types of identity theft, especially those that are most prominent right here in Lane County. Different types to be discussed will include internet scams (such as Nigerian scams), ATM scanners, dumpsters divers, and camera phones. We will discuss ways to prevent identity theft and what to do if you are its victim.
