12/08/2009, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Bean West Conference Room

In today's workplace, we have multiple means to communicate with others. Face-to-face communication, telephone and voicemail, email and texting: each has its advantages and limitations. Given the time constraints of the 21st century workplace, we need to ensure not just that we are communicating, but that we are doing so effectively, respectfully, and appropriately. Each method demands a different level of attention density, each conveys only certain kinds of information well, and each is prone to different types of misunderstanding. In this workshop, we will identify strategies for sending and responding to communications efficiently based on what you really need to "say and convey."
