The University of Oregon English Department seeks candidates for a position in Renaissance/Early Modem British Literature (Assistant Professor, tenure track). We particularly encourage candidates who specialize in Renaissance prose, poetry and/or non-Shakespearean drama, and who demonstrate a broad understanding of the varieties of contemporary literary theory. The department is also committed to building on its current strengths in a variety of specialist sub-fields: these include, but are not limited to, issues of race, nation & empire; gender and sexuality, including queer theory; literature and the environment; and post-historicist aesthetics.

Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in English or related field in hand by time of appointment. Salary is competitive. Applicants should send a letter, c.v. references, and a writing sample of approximately 20 pages to:

Professor Henry B. Wonham

Materials received after November 9, 2007 will not be considered. No electronic submissions.
