o intoCAREERS at the University of Oregon invites applications for full-time Analyst Programmer. intoCAREERS is a research and service center that develops and disseminates career planning software and information.
o This is a classified position represented by SEIU local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union.
o University of Oregon positions that are at least half-time are eligible for excellent benefits, including health and dental, employer-paid retirement, and tuition benefits for employee or an eligible dependent, sick and vacation leave.
o Due to budgetary shortfalls, the person appointed to this position may be required to take unpaid furlough days between September 1, 2009 and June 30, 2011.

TO QUALIFY YOU MUST HAVE:

... a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in systems analysis and related programming support functions generally obtained by a bachelor's degree in computer science, or an equivalent amount of training and applied experience.

Position requires knowledge of Windows .NET platform; relational database design; SQL Server, T-SQL, C#, Microsoft Visual Studio, and JavaScript; ability to analyze data and solve problems; ability to communicate clearly, positively, and tactfully in speech and in writing with intoCAREERS staff and clientele from diverse backgrounds and cultures; ability to organize work files and carry out multiple projects and meet deadlines; ability to maintain complete and accurate files; excellent attention to detail; ability to work both independently and in teams; ability to learn new software.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position develops and supports Internet applications for career exploration and planning. Duties include:
... developing and maintaining Internet applications for career exploration and planning according to design specifications; writing applications for the .NET platform according to design specifications; developing relational databases and stored procedures for storing and retrieving data.
... participating in teams of subject matter experience, software engineers, graphic artists, and instructional technologists to develop design specifications for career exploration and planning applications.
... documenting applications according to intoCAREERS' conventions; writing external documentation identifying the purpose and function of the application; writing documentation to assist other programmers understand its maintenance and utility; where appropriate, writing documentation for delivery system staff that work with the software.
... providing technical assistance to licensees on use and customization of the applications.
