Welcome to the University of Oregon!
The University of Oregon provides a competitive benefits package to all eligible employees (.50 FTE or more and expected to work 90 days) that includes options best suited to their needs and the needs of their family.
Enrollment in benefits is not automatic.
As a new employee, you have 30 days from your date of hire, to select and enroll in the health plans. Employee Benefit Orientations are available to inform employees of their options and assist with selecting the most appropriate plans. Please register for an orientation immediately upon hire either online or by contacting the Benefits Office at 541-346-3085.
If you miss this initial enrollment period, you can only enroll with a Qualified Event or during our mandatory open enrollment each fall.
Most employees pay 5% of the monthly healthcare premiums for themselves and eligible dependents. Eligible dependents include spouse, domestic partner (same and opposite sex), and dependent children. Coverage of domestic partners and their children may have tax implications. A complete description of eligible dependents is available on the Public Employee Benefits Board (PEBB) website in the Summary Plan Description, Section 1, page 13.
Actual cost will vary based on employee classification and plans selected. Healthcare includes medical, vision and dental plans.
A variety of optional benefit plans (life insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Short and Long Term Disability, etc) are also available. Employees pay 100% of monthly premiums for optional benefits.

Courtesy Post-Doctoral Appointments
Courstesy Post-Doc employees have a benefit offering that is different from other benefit eligible employees.
UO employees use email, DuckWeb, and a variety of other electronic resources. Gaining access to these resources should occur right away.
Employees need two sets of login information:
UO ID Number and PAC
to access DuckWeb*
New employees receive a UO ID Number and personal access code (PAC) from the hiring department:
- The UO ID number begins with "95" and is nine digits long.
- The PAC is 6 digits and must include a capital letter, a small letter and one number, case sensitive.
- Employees are asked to reset their temporary PAC upon initial login.
- Manage your PAC in DuckWeb at duckweb.uoregon.edu.
DuckID and Password
to access email, Canvas, and other campus services
New employees use their UO ID Number and PAC to claim their DuckID and establish their Duck ID password, which is used to access UO technology systems:
- The DuckID is the UO email address when followed by @uoregon.edu.
- Passwords must be at least 8 digits, with a minimum 1 alpha and 1 numeric.
- Manage your DuckID and password at duckid.uoregon.edu.
*DuckWeb is a secure website that interfaces with the university’s central administrative system. DuckWeb allows access to payroll data and personal information. Faculty use DuckWeb to obtain class lists and for grading.
For more information on technology access, see it.uoregon.edu/access-to-technology.
