All members covered by the employer's basic life insurance have a new travel benefit from Medex TravelAssist. If you or a dependent becomes ill while traveling 100 or more miles from home, Medex offers a range of assistance at no cost.

You will need your BlueCross ID number, which is on your insurance ID card, to access this site. If you are not able to find a preferred provider, you may see any provider, it will just cost you more out of pocket.
Before you leave or while traveling, call the BlueCard WorldwideŽ Service Center at 800 810-BLUE (2583) or collect at 804 673-1177 if you are unable to find a suitable provider or don't have access to the Internet.

If you are ill or injured while traveling internationally on University business, the State of Oregon Risk Management Division currently buys an insurance policy that includes repatriation coverage. It covers all state employees. Repatriation coverage is in place 24 hours per day. For further information, consult the Risk Management Division website or call them at 503 373-7475.
